Netflix has fired The Ranch star, Danny Masterson amid numerous allegations of sexual assault against the actor.
"As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of The Ranch," Netflix said in a statement on Tuesday. "Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him."
The Ranch stars Masterson and his longtime friend, Ashton Kutcher. The show premiered in 2016, and centers around a man who returns home from a failed semi-pro football career to help run his family business.
Masterson, 41, has been accused of raping four women in the early 2000s. In 2014, a woman filed a police report in 2014, stating Masterson had sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious. This past March, the three other women - who, like Materson, are Scientologists - told the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) that he raped them, but were intimidated by the Church to stay quiet.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Masterson will still appear in the second half of season two, which will be released on Dec. 15, and may return for parts of season three to properly send off his character.
Shortly after the announcement, Masterson shared his own statement.
