Growing up, I was religiously sick during every flu season, and needed to be looked after by my mom.
Luckily, I had a doting mother who made homemade chicken soup and watched countless cartoons with me, despite knowing she'd miss her daily soap operas.
She also knew there was a high probability she would catch whatever contagious illness I had, but tended to my every need anyway.
Kristen Bell is also familiar with the plight of a catching an aliment from her kids, but this one is definitely something no parent would be willing to have.
During an appearance on The Joel McHale Show, the 37-year-old actress revealed she caught anal worms from her three-year-old daughter, Delta, who got the bug while at preschool.
She said when she went to pick her youngest daughter up, she noticed all of the carpets had been removed from the classroom. It wouldn't be long until she discovered they were being cleaned because of a pinworm outbreak.
The Bad Moms star said she immediately searched the infection online and found out it was contagious.
"I'm not here to talk about pinworms, but I will," she said. "Fifty percent of people over 15 don’t experience symptoms, which is the itch. Your kids get them because they put their hands in their mouth and they lay eggs."
"You have to monitor and you have to look in their poop. And when you wipe their butt, sure enough, I wiped and saw a little white worm," Bell said. "I know, she’s really gross. My daughter, not the worm. The worm was gross, too."
While the starlet said the infection wasn't painful, she shared "it was very itchy."
Thankfully, Bell said her husband, actor Dax Shepard and her four-year-old daughter, Lincoln, didn't catch the pinworms after the family took a "shot of chalky nonsense" from the pharmacy.
Have you or your child ever have pinworms?
