A New Jersey couple wed in a courthouse bathroom after the groom's mother fell ill.
Brian and Maria Schulz set to tie the knot on January 2 in a judge's chambers, accompanied by both of their mothers.
But before the ceremony could begin at the Monmouth County Courthouse, Brian's mother, Suzanne called him and said she was having asthma attack in the women's washroom.
While the sheriff’s officers were able to administer oxygen and had called EMTs for support, Suzanne was told she couldn't be returned to the chambers to watch her son get married.
The couple were then told if they were to postpone their wedding, they would have wait another 45 days for a new marriage license. So they asked Judge Katie Gummer if she could perform the ceremony beside the toilets instead.
