5 Times Planes Had To Land Because Of Bizarre Reasons

We often hear about forced landings when planes run into dangerous weather, mechanical issues or other dangerous reasons. But sometimes planes land for the oddest reasons ever. Here are some of the weirdest reasons why planes have had to land:

1. JetBlue Wasted

This is the most recent story from the list. A JetBlue plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a drunk woman allegedly fondled a male passenger's head, threw food and broke free from handcuffs during the flight.

This 30-year-old woman was charged with interfering with flight crew members and attendants after the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Washington DC.

The woman is due to face court in Virginia this week.

2. Toilet Troubles

A flight took off from Oslo Gardermoen headed for Munich. However, the plane only got as far as the Swedish border before it had to turn back, circling four times over Hedmark to get rid of excess fuel and then landing.

The flight was aborted as a result of a problem with the toilets on board, and funnily enough, the flight had 85 plumbers aboard as passengers. This quickly made headlines for its ironic circumstances.

The airline CEO commented saying, "We would have liked to fix the restrooms, but unfortunately it had to be done from the outside and we didn’t risk sending a plumber to work at 10,000m,” he told Dagbladet. “There was a good atmosphere in the plane, what with the irony about the broken toilets.”

If I was the staff in this next one, I would have lost it!

3. Nut Rejection

A woman on a Korean airline leaving New York, got angry after she was served macadamia nuts without a plate. She made a scene and told the whole plane that the steward in question was incapable of keeping passengers safe.

The plane, which just took off, had to return back to JFK airport, but not to remove this woman from the plane. They removed the steward from the plane to avoid conflict. She was later found guilty of obstructing aviation safety.

4. He Had To Go

A French actor, Gerard Depardieu, urinated on board, when the staff told him he had to wait to go to the bathroom. They told him to wait because the plane was about to take off, and passengers had to stay seated. He then unzipped his pants and peed in front of everyone on board. This incident caused the Dublin-bound plane to return and he was removed from the plane.

The actor later apologized for the incident.

5. You've Got To Bee Kidding Me

This American Airlines flight luckily hadn't taken off yet, but it got seriously delayed.

This Dallas to Germany flight was about to take off when a swarm of over 1,000 bees made the plane's wing their new home.

The airline had to call a beekeeper to come and disperse the bugs. After two failed attempts and two hours later, he was able to get the bugs to leave and the plane was able to take off.

If you've ever had a bad flight, just thank god it wasn't one of these!
